Globe Thistle

This clumping perennial is hardy in zones 3-8. The flowers begin blooming in early summer as intense blue spheres measuring 1.5" inches.  Echinops add a unique touch to any fresh or dried bouquet. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage rebloom.

Attracts butterflies.

Water: low to average needs

Height: 3-4 feet

Width: 2 feet

Full Sun, will tolerate light shade

Harvest: Fresh cut or dried - Harvest when 1/2 to 3/4 of the globe has turned blue. Hang to dry. If harvested too late, the globes will shatter.
